Agile 20 Reflection Festival

It’s never a great idea to wish away time, but it’s hard not to look forward to the end of last year given the current situation we find ourselves in. As we move forward to the new year, I wanted to take a moment to recognise all the work and support the Agile20 Reflection Festival has done in building the momentum for the festival in 2021 it’s been hard work and we’ve worked incredibly hard to support the festival and to grow. We have had our fair share of problems to solve and issues to deal with, but we have manged to grow and SHAPE our festival. Will explain more on SHAPE as I write.

So, I want to give a shout out to the wonderful people who have come on board to help SHAPE the festival, they have come from all over the world, we have Trustees, Ambassadors and 100s of speakers from all over the world and not just one type of flavour of Agile its all. Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Scaled, Collaboration it’s all types of frameworks and people coming together to SHAPE the festival. I have never been as proud as I am now to be part of festival that really is supporting all — Grassroots to established People recognised all across the Agile plains are coming together to support and more importantly are giving up their time for Free.

The festival was born out of the love of Agile and really wanting to bridge a gap between everyone. We wanted to reflect of the Past, present and future of Agile and bring all together in these uncertain times to reflect on what has been and what will come to pass (sorry I am a massive Lord of the Rings fan) and have great talk on what was just going to be a one off event on the 11th February to celebrate 21 years of the manifesto, however it grown to a month-long festival on all areas of Agile.

I suppose for me the attraction has been the people as I whole heartedly believe this is where the Agile communities thrives, the people. I want to ensure future generations can enjoy and learn from the festival. I want to give back and help repair divides that seem to be there in our industry. Yes, we all like different frame works or work in different sectors, but ultimately there is a reason we all love Agile and its many flavours and I believe given the year we have had, that we can come together and move forward as one.

So this is why we can all help SHAPE this festival to make sure we use our voices to Speak to everyone all over the globe, we can all Host events in the places we live, we can Attend other events that we have an interest in, we can Promote it with our circles to ensure everyone gets a chance to attend some free event in their part of the world and most of all we can Enliven the event and really build a bridge and a great Agile community that lives and breathes its many values and principle.

I know I am and I am going to love every minute of the month long festival and I hope you do too — If you would like to be part of the festival you can visit our Website: https://agile20reflect.org/ — We would love for you to be apart and you can do this in many different ways: Register for our newsletter, become an ambassador to support your local events in your county, add events, suggest speakers or just attend other events but mostly we would love for your to SHAPE it — Speak, Host, Attend, promote and Enliven
